Draw a spring birdhouse using basic shapes and add flowers for decoration.
Learn to draw a charming spring birdhouse using basic shapes and adding decorative flowers and a perched bird. This tutorial teaches you to start with pencil sketches and finish with marker details.
Draw an upside-down V shape for the roof, starting in the middle with diagonal lines down to the left and right
You can turn your paper sideways to make drawing the lines easier
Draw two straight lines down from the roof, then connect them at the bottom
Make the roof thicker by adding short diagonal lines on each side
Draw a circle in the middle for the birdhouse opening
You can trace around a template for a perfect circle or practice drawing freehand
Extend the bottom out further on each side, draw a wide short rectangle, then add a short stand and a skinny rectangle perch below the entrance
Keep the stand short to fit on the paper
Draw three flowers with five petals each - one in the middle top and one on each side
Use upside-down U shapes for petals, add leaf shapes coming out from the bottom
Draw tulips at the bottom using U or W shapes for the tops and diagonal lines down
Add stems and leaves for each flower, overlapping them for a 3D effect
Draw a small bird inside the entrance circle with beak, eyes, head, body, wings, and perched feet
Use small U shapes for wings and an oval with a backwards C for the feet
Use marker to trace over pencil lines, then erase all pencil guidelines
Erase lines through flowers, tulips, and bird details
Color your birdhouse with your choice of colors
Add extra details like music notes, shading, or a background if desired
